Protect us good St. Ann, grandmother of Jesus and mother of Mary. Help us to respect and appreciate the heritage of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts as given us by our "Kupuna Generation." Give us the strength and wisdom to continue their legacy of commitment, caring, excellence and service. And, let us always remember that we live
"not for ourselves alone."

Intercession for the Unemployed

We remember those who suffer want and anxiety from the lack of work. Guide the people of this land to use our public and private wealth that all may find suitable and fulfilling employment, and receive just payment for their labor; we pray to the Lord.

Pray for the Unemployed

Loving Father, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn a living and support their families. We pray that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities into earning a just salary.  Do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means.  Help them find new solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his or her abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood?  Grant that we may all share in the abundant goods you provide.  We pray this in Jesus’ name - Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph for Employment

Dear St. Joseph, you were given the responsibility of providing the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary.  Look down with fatherly compassion upon our brothers and sisters in their anxiety over their present struggle to support their families due to job loss.  Please help them find gainful employment very soon, so that this heavy burden of concern will be lifted from their hearts and that they soon will be able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to their care.  Help us to guard against bitterness and discouragement, so that we may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God.  Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph, Patron of Workers

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.  You, who are the patron of workers, grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities to the service of their fellow brothers and sisters and that all may earn a just salary.  You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down by unemployment and job loss.  Help our political and industry leaders find new and just solutions.  May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to their abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may support those who are struggling due to job loss.

Prayer for the Unemployed

God, whose Spirit broods over the deep, hold close to your heart those who are searching for work. Encourage their spirits to persevere.  Soothe tense relationships that threaten to tear their families apart. Turn our hearts to those in need in compassion, generous support, and efforts to open doors of opportunity.  We ask this through Christ - our Lord. Amen.
